Research Data Management

At CZM, the electronic laboratory notebook elabFTW is used for structured backup of research data. It is a web-based, free program developed by the Curie Institute from France. It allows, among other things, the creation of devices (under specification of specific procedural instructions, configurations, parameters, etc.), samples, working groups, publications or research projects. Performed experiments are linked to the aforementioned categories as well as to the generated raw data by assigning a specific ID and storing relevant experiment/sample parameters. The latter are stored and unchangeable on the transfer drives of the computer center. In principle, all DFG specifications for adequate research data management can be implemented in this way.
